International Students are in limbo after the US Visa Change Announcement

The recent declaration of US President Trump has left around a hundred of thousands of overseas students in confusion. They are regretting their decision to pursue studies in America. A week before the president announced that all foreign students who have been studying in US colleges should return to their home countries if their college adopts only-online learning.

Oliver Philcox, a first-year student at Princeton University, told that his classes have started to conduct online since March of this year. So, he had planned to return to Britain in May. Earlier, he was expecting to return to the US in September. Now after the directive by the government, his return to an American institution is uncertain. He finds the decision of the government to be terrible and confusing. Like Mr. Philcox, numerous students are in the same boat. They are in a dilemma whether they would be able to come back to the US to pursue classroom learning. Students whose classes are moving online would strip off their visas and have to leave the United States.

A majority of universities are anticipating this move to be a political strategy. It seems to be an effort to reopen in place of hosting all classes online in this epidemic. For a few foreign students, this directive gives rise to several frustrating questions regarding uncertainty and logistics. For students whose home nations are involved in conflict or do not have adequate communications technologies for online learning, this decision can cause a disturbance in their lives and radically impact their futures.
