President Museveni hails South Asians’ contributions to Uganda’s growth

UGANDAN president Yoweri Museveni has hailed the contributions of the South Asian community, especially the Indian diaspora, to the country’s economy despite their struggles following their mass expulsion in 1972.The 79-year-old president criticised his predecessor Idi Amin for his draconian policies that drove Asians, particularly Indians and Pakistanis, from the African nation.
