Gabapentin is ananti-epileptic medicine, also called an anticonvulsant. It affects chemicals and jitters in the body that are involved in the cause of seizures and some types of pain. Gabapentin is used together with other drugs to treat partial seizures in grown-ups and children at least 3 times old. Gabapentin is also used to treat neuropathic pain ( whim-whams pain) caused by herpes contagion or shingles (herpes zoster) in grown-ups.
